LIGHT! Facilitator Manual on CD-ROM includes 16
fully scripted lesson plans and reproducible handouts
corresponding
to the Phase I and Phase II Support and Education
Programs, new client orientation guidelines, and
a variety of useful resources and suggestions aimed
at weight management facilitators.

Note: The
Facilitator Manual does not include
the THINK LIGHT! CD-ROM that
your participants will receive (i.e. menus, recipes,
etc.). If you
are
considering
offering THINK LIGHT! at your facility, we recommend
that you review both.

Overview
Since 1988 THINK LIGHT! has been
chosen by over 5,000 health & fitness program directors
looking for
a sensible, credible and affordable weight management program.
Created
by a team of health professionals – registered dietitians,
behavioral specialists and exercise physiologists – THINK LIGHT! promotes
a realistic, lifestyle approach to eating, exercise and behavior change with
an eating plan that emphasizes "slow-carbs" rather than simple carbs. No gimmicks,
no fads and no on-again, off-again diet.
Programming Options

As a health and fitness professional you can
offer the THINK LIGHT! program in your facility either
as a self-directed program or "packaged" together with
your own support service (e.g. group
meetings, one-on-one appointments, personal training sessions,
health club memberships, telephone appointments, etc.).
The THINK LIGHT! Facilitator Manual on
CD-ROM includes all the tools needed to set up an in-house
program (see sidebar for more info or to order.) Customizable
marketing materials are also available for no additional
charge.
Participant Materials
Participants in your THINK LIGHT! program
each receive their own THINK
LIGHT! CD-ROM (retail price: $19.95/volume
discounts
available) or featuring an 8-week “flexible” eating
plan with daily menu ideas, recipes and weekly grocery lists
all printable either by day or by week. The eating plan
offers a frequent, small meal pattern with 3 calorie levels
to choose from: 1500, 1800 or 2,200 calories/day. All 3
levels are low in total fat (<30% total calories) and
saturated fat (8%) and moderate in carbohydrate (<53%).
The eating plan also provides moderate levels of protein
(22%) and is high in fiber (>25 grams).
Including with each THINK LIGHT! CD-ROM is a free registration
for the 8-week THINK LIGHT!
Support & Education Program. The program includes twice-weekly
emails and access to an online, moderated Community Support Area where participants
can get help and support from THINK LIGHT! coaches as well as other participants
from around the world.
